When Airachnid captured Arcee and interrogated her, several vehicons brought in Tailgate in the room to be used as a hostage for Airachind to get the information of the Autobot's attack movements or Tailgate would die.Īrcee, desperately wanting to save her partner, did not know the attack coordinates and Airachnid killed Tailgate on the spot. In Predatory, Arcee recalls a flashback about talking with Tailgate in asking for directions and bantering with him over her comm unit as she runs through the ruined buildings on Cybertron. Tailgate was Arcee's first partner and close friend. The Energon is powerful enough to repair any damage left by Scourge and reignite a spark, allowing Bumblebee's resurrection in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts to occur.Allies/Friends Tailgate (deceased) This allows the substance to begin to power up Bumblebee again because he is touching some of it. As the Key powers up and opens a portal for Unicron, an energy blast activates all nearby Energon. It is not until the two halves of the Transwarp Key are combined and used to create a portal station that the Autobots' luck changes. This still presents a problem for Optimus Prime, as he does not have a way to use the Energon to resurrect Bumblebee. What Optimus Prime is not fully aware of is that Earth is an Energon-rich planet, which allows the Autobots to later seemingly lay Bumblebee to rest on a huge piece of Energon. However, he states that this is only possible to accomplish on Cybertron, fueling his desire to get the Transwarp Key and return home. Optimus Prime suggests that Bumblebee's resurrection is possible with enough Energon and a strong enough power source. Similarly to these prior instances, Optimus Prime blames himself that Bumblebee dies in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.įrom the moment that Bumblebee dies, it does not take long for the Autobots to begin discussing if it was possible to bring him back to life. Bumblebee also died in the animated series Transformers: Prime. The comics have killed him a few times, including Marvel Comics' 1980s series and more recently in 2006's G.I. Optimus Prime takes it upon himself to fight Scourge, while Arcee, Bumblebee, and Mirage fight Battlestrap and Nightbird. This leads to a battle between the Autobots and Terrorcons for possession of the Key. After Optimus Prime sees the beam in the sky from the Transwarp Key, the Autobots race to get the powerful device without knowing that Scourge and the Terrorcons are also after it. The Transformers franchise delivers a surprise when Bumblebee's death in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts happens. ![]()
